Melanie Yergeau's "Authoring Autism" is a text about autism that is simultaneously a queering of autism. It is, after all, a text about authoring an identity, and who am I to add another layer to its language? It is full of quotable passages, and my main effort has been to capture essential ideas and serve them up as directly as possible. But rather than offering an analytical reading, I have decided to let it speak for itself as much as possible.
